USE A
ROOM IN
YOUR HOME
AS AN OFFICE AND
SAVE THOUSANDS
ON YOUR
TAXES If you own your own business and you have a room in your
home that you can use exclusively and regularly as an office, you can
use that office as a legitimate business deduction on your income tax
return. The rules state
that the room must be used for meeting customers in the normal course
of business
or
as the principal place of your business
or
for general and administrative functions for your business. The following is a list of items that may be deducted in
connection with your home office based on the square footage of the
office divided by the square footage of the entire home: · Home Mortgage Interest ·
Property Taxes ·
Homeowner’s Insurance ·
Flood Insurance ·
Home Security Services ·
Cleaning Services ·
Utilities ·
Repairs Of course, any expense directly associated with the office,
such as a separate business telephone line, would be deducted at 100%. Contact us for more details at (281) 335-4974 |
