Franchise Taxes

What is a Franchise Tax? Who has to pay?

A franchise tax is a State tax imposed on Partnerships, LLC’s and Corporations for doing business in that State. Sole Proprietorships and General Partnerships do not have to pay franchise tax in the state of Texas. The state requires that you file a Franchise Tax Report annually to report revenues from your business.

You can visit the Comptroller's Website for all of the details and instructions at www.window.state.tx.us for Texas businesses.
